Canadian Blood Services is a national, not-for-profit charitable organization that manages the supply of blood and blood products in all provinces and territories outside of Quebec. Canadian Blood Services also oversees the OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network, and provides national leadership for organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Canadian Blood Services operates 42 permanent collection sites and more than 20,000 donor clinics annually. The provincial and territorial Ministries of Health provide operational funding to Canadian Blood Services. The federal government, through Health Canada, is responsible for regulating the blood system.

Independent Electricity System Operator
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is responsible for managing Ontario’s bulk power system and administering the wholesale electricity market. The IESO is at the heart of Ontario’s electricity system and links all market participants – generators that produce electricity, transmitters that send it across the province, retailers that buy and sell it, industries and local distribution companies that deliver it to people's homes and businesses. The IESO continuously monitors the province’s electricity needs and ensures sufficient generation is operating to meet these demands. The IESO also coordinates emergency preparedness for the province's electricity system and played a key role in managing the restoration of power following the August 2003 blackout.
